UCL/RCoA Perioperative Medicine in Action Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) - new material available

The UCL Centre for Perioperative Medicine are celebrating seven years and 40,000 learners contributing to the UCL/RCoA Perioperative Medicine in Action Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). To mark this anniversary, the course was relaunched on 1st July 2024 with new material.

Suitable for the whole MDT,  the course explores perioperative medicine and how care can be improved for the high risk surgical patient.

New for 2024, there is a wide range of new topics and material:

- Risk Assessment: Prof Ramani Moonesinghe discussing the importance and future of risk assessments

- Prehabilitation: Three new articles on prehabilitation- why we need it, what it involves and how to set up a service

- Advanced care planning: An updated look at end of life discussions and the barriers to advanced care planning

- NAP 7: Hear from Prof Tim Cook about NAP 7 and how it impacts perioperative care
