Implementing a Perioperative care of Older People undergoing Surgery (POPS) service

A new qualitative study by THIS Institute Fellow Prof Justin Waring ,THIS Institute’s Director of Research Prof Graham Martin and co-authors, identify the five key activities for addressing barriers to successful implementation of the POPS model in a hospital. The range of activities and strategies are building the clinical and operational evidence base, developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies, ensuring professional engagement, securing managerial and financial support, and committed and distributed leadership.
