OSAGuidance

Today we have published our updated Perioperative Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in Adults one page guidance. Initially published in 2023, the content has been reviewed to ensure reflects any current up to date information.

Patients who undergo surgery with undiagnosed Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) are at a substantially increased risk of complications during and after surgery. Furthermore, a large proportion of patients with OSA are currently living without a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

It is therefore vital that patients are routinely screened for OSA when considering surgery so that they can access support and treatment to reduce their risk of complications.
